Boring Cubicle Farm to Soaring Cubicle Charm…Pick a Theme!

A good friend of mine sent me a photo of her new "office" the other day in an email with a Subject Line that said "Help!" This is what I saw:

I do love to play with these grim, gray spaces and turn them into fun, fanciful spaces. 

Move your Office to the Islands! 

My friend had already made considerable effort to change the vibrational frequencies in her cubicle She has her monitor mirror up to see anyone stepping into the open space at her back. There is a pot of bamboo in her wealth corner. There is a calendar which affirms what I know about her affinity for the beach. She also has a photo of herself at the beach tucked in behind her monitor.

I am sending you to the islands every day instead of to the grind. Let's set the stage. Here are photos of what is in my imagination. Simple additions will result in big shifts of how this cubicle feels. I've added the Caribbean images here but you can certainly do the Pacific if you prefer that energy. Choose your favorite place and get some of that printed wallpaper. I've even seen posters at Michael's and Hobby Lobby you could cut to fit. 

To follow through on the theme, you will see that I've PhotoShopped in a Hawaiian basket under her orchid and removed the Glade air freshener she had beside it (not cute, indicates she feel the space smells bad). She can keep the air freshener, just not out where you can see it as it detracts from the sense of BEing in the islands. I have also moved her monitor mirror to the lower edge of the overhead cabinet, effectively creating the illusion of its disappearance while reflecting incoming activity from behind.

In the other photo I've PhotoShopped in a little Hawaiian lamp, a pineapple platter for her papers, keys, pens, or whatever; and a couple of chambered nautilus shells. I encourage her to hang a mobile of tropical fish or one of those fish scale wind chimes from the ceiling above her cubicle's left wing. She should post lots of photos she has taken on trips to to the beach, including her personal visits to Belize, Arruba, Cancun, Cozumel, and Hawaii. She can take this to the next level by posting images of the next trip she intends to take...and cutting herself out of other pictures and placing herself into the new image. She can keep a dish of taste treats from the islands such as macadamia nuts or pineapple candies, whichever appeals most to her. She could keep some of those tiny umbrellas for her water glass, add a ring of orange or lemon or a wedge of pineapple, and stay in the mood all the time.

IF she worked in Honolulu, she'd have a lei or two draped somewhere, and maybe a carved statue - perhaps a hula dancer(?), and perhaps a fan made of palms. She might have a coconut shell pencil holder? She can just as easily switch this to Cuban beach or the Bahamas, depending on her choice of accessories. I encourage you to have fun staging the scene. I would bring sunscreen to the office and use it like lotion just to get the scent into the mindset.  :)  Hit every sensory input button you can. Think steel drum music or perhaps ukelele music - again whichever matches your personal magic.

Here's the thing to remember: Every time you step into your space, you want to step into another reality. Put Jimmy Buffet or some reggae on your computer, or play the sound of the sea all day softly so it doesn't bother others. The background images of the palms and water posted on the background fabric are of primary importance. They will have the biggest impact. Your co-workers will FLIP and you will love it every day!

4 Easy Steps to Blessing Your New Home

So you have a new home... Congratulations!! Blessing your house changes it from a structure to a home, giving it life via your appreciation, love and respect. Here is a simply way to place your vibrational frequencies to harmony in a new home.

First, clean it top to bottom, inside and out. The windows should sparkle. All plumbing fixtures should be pristine. Floors should glisten. The place should look, smell, and feel fresh.

Bring the house a beautiful bouquet of your favorite flowers. Place them in a vase in the heart of the house. Raise your arms out to the space as if to hug the whole place, and speak aloud, "I am your new owner. (If you are going to name the place, now is the time to do that and tell it its name.) You and I are one. We will live and grow together, protect one another, and honor each other always and in all ways. I bring you life and beauty as my gift to you. I ask for your support and sanctuary. May God and all the angels bless this home and all within with health, wealth, joy, grace, and abundance." (Click here to download this blessing as a PDF.)

Bow to the house. Then take a fresh box of Kosher or sea salt. Sprinkle a line of salt across the driveway entrance(s) and all exterior doors (including garage doors). Then, starting just inside the front door with the door closed, call in the four archangels. Ask Uriel, Raphael, Gabriel, and Michael to guide and protect you always. Then, moving always clockwise, place a pinch of salt in each corner of every room (and in front of any poison arrows you come across as you go), until you have done this in all corners in all rooms on all floors and returned to the front door where you redraw an inside line of salt. Then go put a heavy pinch of salt down every drain, including toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs, washer drains, and dishwasher bottoms.

Light a candle and put on some awesome music. Break bread (eat something tasty) and drink a glass of your favorite beverage, saying in your blessing of the food that there will always be bountiful food and celebration in the house. Thank God and the angels for your feast, your celebration, and your wonderful new home.

Make Your Own Traveling Feng Shui Supply Kit

The man in my life came home from a business trip recently complaining about the hotel room and how he found it to be uncomfortable, noisy, and sterile. He was there for three nights and he began to find its lack of supportive energy tedious. By the time he got home, he was exhausted. His energy didn't return till after 48-hours in his normal sweet feng shui support.

Knowing he had to go back the following week, I prepared him a travelling feng shui supply kit. I sent him with a blue scarf to lay across the table or chest in his room (also to cover poison arrows), a couple of stones, a candle in a glass votive with a box of matches, a tiny metal statue, a chunk of wood from a special tree, and a small octagonal mirror. He set these out when he got into his room, lighting the candle as he came back each night. The next trip was much easier on him. He returned home charged by his journey instead of drained, and he was ready to return to his routine the next day.

You can do this too. Whether it's a trip to a friend's home, a business trip, or a vacation, you always benefit from supportive feng shui in your environment. All you need to do is pack something lovely from each of the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. You can even combine elements for less things to pack. For example, a square metal framed photo of a loved one standing under palm trees at the seashore gives you all five elements in one item:

• Earth energy from the square
• Metal energy from the frame
• Fire energy from the loved one (all living things have Fire energy)
• Wood energy from the palm trees
• Water energy from the ocean at the beach

The most important things to consider when choosing what to take with you are that

• You like looking at each item: they make your eyes smile
• All five elements are represented
• They travel easily: not too large or heavy or easily broken

In order to determine what to pack, select any one from each of the following five headings, according to what feels right to you. Feel free to mix and match for each trip:

Wood

• Things made out of any kind of wood
• Things that look like wood or plants
• Small silk plant
• Paper
• Book
• Basket
• Something made of cotton
• Anything the color of wood, any shade of green, any color that might be in a cornucopia

Fire

• Candles
• Statues of animals and anything made from animals like leather or ivory
• All technology-your computer, cell phone, iPad, iPod, et.
• Anything that uses electricity
• Anything the color of fire: reds, oranges, fiery yellows

Earth

• Anything made of earth: marble, terra cotta, limestone, sandstone
• Crystals, rocks, geodes
• Stone coaster for your beverage
• Jewelry with gemstones: diamonds, emeralds, rubies, turquoise, etc.
• Anything the color of earth: sand, brick, taupe, yellow (like sulphur), ochre, rust, etc.

Metal

• Anything made of metal
• Coins from your pocket
• Keys
• Metal dish
• Anything the color of metal: gold, silver, copper, bronze

Water

• Jug for your water
• Bucket for ice
• A mirror
• Anything made of glass
• A watercolor
• Anything the color of water: blue, turquoise, aqua, navy, or black

5 Things To Keep In Mind About the Meaning of Papal Resignation, Lightning Strikes & Meteorites

First of all, the Pope has resigned. Heaven only knows all the details and reasons behind that choice.  What we do know is that he is done. Finis. Stick a fork in him, wave bye bye, he's outa here. That means there will be a Cardinal's council convened and charged to elect a new Pope. The Church will continue and has procedures in place to ensure its continuity. They have waaaaay too much money and power to just close their doors and go away because Benedict resigned.

Yes there is a prophecy from back in the 12th century that said there would be 112 popes and Benedict was number 111. There was a much older prophecy that the world would end with the Mayan calendar last December and you know how that turned out. Foretelling the future is tricky. You should keep in mind that our Earth is not broken. The Big Bang is not going to come back together in a Big Crunch. In fact, scientists tell us that the Universe is expanding more and faster than ever before. The Divine Plan is that everything everywhere seeks to grow. That includes you and your dreams. When you quit growing you begin dying. Benedict is dying. You and your dreams are not!

According to my sources, the Catholic Church—and Christianity for that matter—is not done. Dogma is done, but not the teachings of Christ. Churches, in general, are losing their appeal to their members, due partly the tendency today to resist blind acceptance of edicts from an organization which seeks to get between a person and their God. People today are more spiritual and less religious. With the understanding that God is not a Catholic, Jew, Muslim, or Hindu, comes the realization that God simply is. No church is required for admission to talks with the Big Guy in the Sky. Kindness will always be a good idea.

The fact that lightning struck the peak of the Vatican just after Benedict's announcement means there was a powerful charge of static electricity that discharged itself from the sky, through the lightning rod at St. Peter's, to the ground. Lightning has always rattled us. Hearing the thunder will cause people and animals to cower. Zeus and Thor are well known for their lightning bolts, as well as many other gods. All of us have heard "God will strike you down for saying/doing that!" That strike part refers to lightning and we know it. Lightning has supernatural importance. If it struck the top of your house it would get your attention. What YOU think it means determines the meaning of it. My sources say, "Hmmmm, very interesting. I wonder what's been going on in there lately?" What we know for sure is that Benedict is leaving and someone else is coming in. We also know there has been a large discharge of power.

Right on the heels of this comes the 55 foot in diameter/10,000 ton meteor which let loose nearly 500 kilotons of energy as it burned through the sky at Chelyabinsk, Russia. This was almost thirty times more energy than the atom bomb released when it was dropped on Hiroshima! Thirty times more! Yes, some buildings were damaged and some people were hurt, but everyone really did come out in the best of results with this natural disaster. A meteor falling to Earth adds a bit of star dust to our planet. Something new has definitely been added. A miracle happened when so little damage and death were caused by this event.

Put these events together and you have quite a pot of gumbo, as my mama would say. Here's your take away:

1. There are BIG changes coming to the Catholic Church with a completely new leader on the way. Change is good.
2. Spirituality is growing to be more pervasive while religious dogma is fading from our lives. We will connect to our God without assistance, interference, or guidance. This is all good.
3. Lightning strikes all the time all over the earth. We are watching the Vatican. We are aware that a wrist has been slapped. We are also aware that a shift in power has occurred. Another good thing.
4. A once in a century sort of meteorite has landed in Russia and caused surprisingly little damage. Smile. Expect more good stuff.
5. Whatever is coming next, expect something wonderful. What you look for is what you'll see.

Here is your heads-up for the planet Mercury's moving into retrograde. Its wobble starts today, February 13, 2013. February 23 and March 17 are the beginning and end dates, or when Mercury seems to be stationary. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING on those days. Bite your tongue on those days and LISTEN instead of arguing. Outside of those dates, the hijinks are apparent if you know what you're looking for. Watch them and smile. It disarms the energies for you to take them lightly. Everything You Need to Know About The Year of the Yin Water Snake

Snakes have a bad reputation in the Western world for many reasons. There's that whole Garden of Eden thing the Snake has on its rap-sheet, but there's also the fact that the critters just don't have any legs. They don't have any fur either. And no cute ears.

Some of them have poisonous venom and all of them have fangs - they have to in order to eat anything. Oh, and did I mention there are snakes that can eat you whole?

I don’t think you have to be a woman to get the willies over snakes. Guys get kind of weird about snakes too. Even Bill Cosby says they make him nervous. Remember his old routine where he is out in the woods and calls out, “Snakes? You out there?”

ANYWAY, 2012’s year of the Dragon is flying away and 2013’s Water Snake is slithering in. I thought you might like to know a bit about what to expect of the energies that are coming your way. The Chinese Lunar New Year begins with the new moon (this is the Rowan Moon) on February 10th. The energies will shift from the dramatic power of the Dragon to a more psychic and sensual energy of the Snake. There will be a blend of energies to come. Here are your heads-ups and low downs:

• Snakes are sneaky. This year, risks will be taken. Illusions will be staged. Stay aware and alert for deception. Do your homework before you sign any legal documents. Keep your antenna up in your relationships. There may be innovative ideas and reforms, but there may also be secret plots and uprisings.
• Compassion will be key, but desire can steal the show. Passions may flare if you feed its fire. Stay aligned with what your heart tells you rather than the whispers of others. If the choice is to be right or to be kind, just be kind.
• A new consciousness is emerging. People are more aware of their connectedness with one another, with the environment, and with the future. Research and development of new technologies will flourish, as will scientists and scholars.
• There will be a tendency towards extravagance and a love of lazing in the sun, but these will not contribute to your bank account. Don’t look for immediate gratification. Build your pot penny by penny and stay within your budget.
• Snakes are always able to provide for their families, and you’ll be able to provide for yours during 2013. There will be enough. Planning ahead is key. Eschew spontaneity this year. The second half of the year will be better financially than the first.
• Though you may want to go crazy with getting into new ventures, take your time and allow for the gestation of your idea to evolve naturally. See your plans as if they are already in form. They do exist once you’ve imagined them. Keep feeding their coming by contributing consistently to their culmination.
• Let go of anything that holds you in the past. Regret, rage, or resentment only block your flow. Let them go! Then you can use that energy to grow.
• The year’s Snake energy is modified by both yin and water energies. Yin energy is receptive, feminine, dark, and cool - like the earth waiting for seeds to be planted. Water energy manifests in your life as your ability to flow through the ocean of people with whom you interact. Manners are important. So is integrity.

The energy for the Water Snake is fire under water. Unless you are a person comfortable with fire, take care when you use it this year. Both fire and water damage metal. Metal underground will be susceptible to damage in 2013. This can manifest in tunnels or building foundations. Storms will stir up where there is warm water and warm moist air. Disasters occur where fire and water meet. There will be more travel and thus, likely, more accidents involving planes, ships, and trains.

In 1953, the last year of the Water Snake, the first color television was sold, Disney’s Peter Pan premiered, and DNA’s double helix structure was discovered. Playboy magazine debuted and the first James Bond novel, Casino Royale, was published. The Korean War ended and Stalin died of a stroke. Queen Elizabeth was crowned. The entertainment industry and science flourished. Peace was restored and a new monarchy begun. Watch for similar energetic results in 2013.

This is a year for planting seeds for your future. Expect to reap the benefits of your efforts in 2014, the year of the Horse. If you don’t prepare the soil and plant your seeds of intention now, you will harvest by default. No choice is a choice.
